Preparation
Prepare the Homemade Fries
Peel the potatoes, then cut them into even sticks. Rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch, then dry them thoroughly with a clean towel so they brown well during cooking.
Season the Fries
Place the fries in a bowl. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, and a bit of sweet paprika if you want to add a slightly spicy note. Mix well to coat all the fries.
Cook the Fries
Spread the fries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, without overlapping too much. Bake at 200°C for 35 to 40 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
Prepare the Toppings
While the fries are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves, finely slice the red onion, and cut the pickles into rounds. Also prepare the fried onions and cheese slices to make assembling the burgers easier.
Cook the Steaks
Heat a pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Place the ground beef patties in the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook for a few minutes on each side according to your desired doneness. At the end of cooking, add a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt gently.
Toast the Burger Buns
Cut the burger buns in half, then lightly toast them in a pan, oven, or toaster. The inside should be golden while keeping the bread soft.
Assemble the Burgers
Spread your choice of Plantin sauce on the bottom of the bun: Truffetchup, Trufflirt, Truffire, or Truffolk. Then add the lettuce, a few slices of pickles, the patty with melted cheese, the red onion, and the crispy fried onions.
Finalize the Plate
Close the burgers with the top bun, then serve immediately with the hot homemade fries. Offer the four Plantin truffle sauces at the table to accompany the fries and allow everyone to vary the flavors.
Plantin Chef’s tip(s)
For an even more indulgent burger, pour the sauce directly onto the still warm cheese so that it slightly mixes with the patty. Serve the four Plantin truffle sauces at the table to accompany the fries: everyone can choose their favorite and vary the flavors according to their desires.
